Lecturer & Consultant

Currently my new hobby is lecturing about Hawaiian History on board the cruise ships.

I had my own business (Sun Industries) for twenty-five years before selling it to Grace Pacific. I directed executive management in operations of multi-product and services organization with 135 employees state-wide; Established growth expectations for internal activities; Negotiated external expansion through acquisitions. Operations included the sale and installation of roadway safety products such as metal guardrail, signage, and impact attenuators, the sale of personal and industrial safety products, metal support solutions, and custom signage and graphics. Based on Oahu, SUN Industries had branches in Kahului and Lahaina, Maui; and Kona, Hawaii.

After building and selling my business in Hawaii, I ventured into the Government sector. I was Director of Enterprise Services and reported directly to the City and County of Honolulu Mayor. My department employed approximately 350 employees via four operating divisions, a concession specialist, and an administrative liaison with an annual operating budget of over $40 million.

My wife and I currently reside in New Zealand and we make several trips to Hawai'i as needed. I remain active in our community of Whangarei as a Business Mentor for Northland Chamber of Commerce.
